We manage the loblolly pine (Pinus taeda) breeding population that supports the reforestation of more than 1 million acres (0.4 million hectares) annually.

In the fifth cycle, a recurrent genomic selection strategy is being implemented. The strategy balances gain and coancestry using all available data.

Breeding logistics are coordinated between full members and Tree Improvement Program staff at the Arrowhead Breeding Center hosted by the Georgia Forestry Commission.
