2026 TIP Short Course and Contact Meeting

The NC State University Tree Improvement Program will hold its Short Course and Contact Meeting in Savannah, Georgia, December 1–4, 2026.

The program will focus on practical implementation of pine breeding programs, including:

  • Grafting, pollen collection and storage, and controlled pollination

  • Progeny testing practices and experimental design

  • Reproductive biology, cone dissection, and phenology

  • Seedling deployment using provenance data and breeding values

  • Fundamentals of recurrent selection

The meeting will also include a hosted dinner and field tours of the Weyerhaeuser Complex in Oliver, GA, and ArborGen’s orchard in Newington, GA. Indoor sessions will be held at the Tempo by Hilton in Savannah.

Continuing Education credits will be available for the sessions but the entire week is 21.5 hours. Please contact Tori Brooks with any additional questions or needed information. We look forward to seeing you all in December!
